Casa del Magnolio

Cuatro Cepas
Casa del Magnolio was built around 1900 outside the village of Santa Maria in the Aconcagua Valley of Chile. The Chilean post-colonial adobe home and its adjoining brick fruit-packing house are now the home of Flaherty Wines. This blend of two classic white wine grapes comes from the El Radal Vineyard located near the Andes Mountains in the southern Maule region. The grapes were hand harvested and whole-cluster pressed, and the juice was cold fermented. The Gewurztraminer provides the base of the blend, with notes of rose petal, tropical fruits flavors, and richness in the mouth, while the Chardonnay of this cool region contributes green apple, acidity, and elegance. This white was not cold stabilized or filtered, so it may precipitate tartar crystals, which are part of the natural evolution of the wine.
